NikeLab unveils its summer AGG collection
Inspired by a brown paper bag, the complex design of the ACG.07.KMTR is the latest version of NikeLab’s all-conditions shoe. This time it is the first edition of the Nike Komyuter silhouette which came off the back of a bigger need for access and was with regards to wearing the shoe.
The ACG.07.KMTR comes with a four-way stretch water-resistant upper shell that conforms to the foot through an integrated draw cord and stabilizes via a forefoot strap equipped with a Fidlock magnetic buckle.
“This shoe is water resistant, light, flexible, easy to put on, has great traction and introduces a new aesthetic,” says Nike NSW footwear designer, Gerald Sullivan. “Moreover, it reduces functional elements to bare necessity — one doesn’t need the distractions of complicated entry and lockdown systems when moving around the city.”
The latest drop also features a poncho, specifically designed with functionality in mind. Jarrett Reynolds, Nike's Senior Apparel Designer, said of the design "we were talking about summer festivals and the fact that so many people have ponchos with them. We then considered how we could create a pinnacle version of the garment. We used a lightweight three-layer ripstop fabric, added taped seams at the hood and made sure it was packable.”
The SU17 ACG collection launches May 18 on NikeLAB.com and in NikeLAB doors. The Nike Komyuter Silhouette will release in a variety of colorways throughout summer’17.
